Andrey Shugarov (father’s name: Arkadi) was born in 1958 in Tbilisi. After residing in Tbilisi for six years his family moved to Yerevan where the future painter received his secondary and higher education.
He studied at Yerevan Academy of Fine Arts and graduated Eduard Isabekyan’s workshop in 1975-1982 as an artist. Immediately following graduation, he was seconded to Karbi village. He taught painting at the local school while concurrently working as an artist at the Combine of Fine Arts.
Thereafter he had exhibitions in various countries, including Armenia, Moscow, Georgia, Iran, Saint-Petersburg, Beirut, Bulgaria, Germany, France, Italy, USA…
In 1990 he became a member of the Artists’ Union. In 2002 he left for Paris where he worked for 4 years being represented in various exhibition halls. Meanwhile he organised exhibitions with the Armenian artists to represent the Armenian painting and the Armenian artists in various countries.
He is married with two children.

Group Exhibitions
On 1 March he participated in the group exhibition to be held at Hamazkayin Lucy Tutunjian Art Gallery.
On 13 February, he participated in the event-exhibition dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the formation of the People’s Republic of China and entitled "New Silk Road: One belt, one path” at the Artists’ Union.
On 8 December, he participated in a "Free Theme” group exhibition at the Moscow House.
31 October Shugarov's individual exhibition entitled "Retrospective Look" was held at the Artists’ Union.
